Lifecycle Case Status and Case Steps for Change Management #
Case Template – Change Management #
The Change Management case template in MedQdoc consists of six defined Case Steps. Each step has a specific purpose in supporting the evaluation, implementation, and closure of a change.
The case steps are:
- Information
- Evaluation
- Decisions
- Action Plan & Follow-up
- Case Log
- Review & Closure
Case Lifecycle Status #
All cases in MedQdoc follow the same lifecycle and share the same status options. The difference between case types lies in which steps trigger a status change.
The available case statuses are:
- Register
- In Progress
- Resolved
- Closed
- Archived
Relationship Between Case Steps and Case Status #
The table below shows how case steps, step status, and overall case status are related in the Change Management process.
Purpose of Each Case Step #
- Information – General or additional information related to the change can be documented. When this step is completed, the case status changes to In Progress.
- Evaluation – Documentation of the evaluation of the proposed change, including risk assessment or impact analysis.
- Decisions – Recording of decisions related to the change. This step requires review and approval before completion.
- Action Plan & Follow-up – Definition and tracking of actions required to implement the change. Action Requests can be assigned to individuals, who receive automatic email notifications and reminders. Once this step is completed, the case status changes to Resolved.
- Case Log – Ongoing notes, updates, and outcomes related to the change.
- Review & Closure – Final review, effectiveness verification, and closure of the case. This step requires review and approval. When completed, the case status changes to Closed.
